Nylon 6,6 - a highly engineered fabric used in hot air balloon production that generates large, uncontaminated offcuts with no determined route for reuse. The project identifies this as a commercial opportunity. A scalable, repeatable construction formula nested within the offcuts produces a family of portable domestic lights.
Flat-packable, simple to assemble, and charged with the symbolism of the material it is made from — Six Six demonstrates how post-industrial waste can be resolved into a considered, commercially viable product.
